Adair County High School academic team competitor Amber Loy finished eighth in the entire state in Individual Future Problem Solving at the Governor’s Cup State Championships in Louisville.
This statewide competition was held mid-March, and after a series of rounds of evaluation, the results for this competition were revealed this week. Concluding a competitive high school career that was interrupted by pandemic, Loy bookends her time in academic team with another top-10 individual finish that was preceded by a Top-10 finish in the Grades 7-9 Division during her freshman year.
During that stretch, Loy also finished among the Top 10 in the state in team and competed her freshman year in the International Championships in Amherst, Massachusetts.
