On Friday, May 20, K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten responded to a incident on Lampton Lane. Upon arrival, he made contact with Levi Hausendorfer. Upon investigation, it was found that he was believed to be under the influence of intoxicating substance.
Upon his arrest, suspected methamphetamine and suspected Suboxone was located on his person. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of:
• public intoxication excludes alcohol
• possession of a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
• possession of controlled substance 2nd degree
The sheriff’s office is continuing the investigation.
A second, separate arrest occurred when K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten and Deputy Derek Padgett initiated a traffic stop on Jamestown Street for a registration violation.
The vehicle a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt was operated by Cody Dix, 23, of Columbia.
During the roadside interview, it was suspected there was illegal substances in the vehicle. Deputy Staten deployed his K-9 Nitro, and it resulted in a positive hit indicator for narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded suspected methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
Dix was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of
• display of illegal / altered registration plate
• possession of a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
• possession of drug paraphernalia.
