Tuesday, April 19 was a big day for many of us in the pandemic year of 2021. It was an event to be remembered because that was the day we opened the doors to the Adair Genealogy and History Research Center to the public for the first time. And the researchers and visitors came! We had a great opening and wonderful support since that time.
There will be an official “ribbon cutting” event on the one-year anniversary, April 19, 2022, at 10 a.m. CT, rain or shine. Everyone is invited to come to the event, tour the collections, and rejoice in the history of our county and town.
The photo that accompanies this announcement is that of the Thomas E. Paull home, the place where genealogist and historian Ruth Paull Burdette grew up, now the site of the main Adair County Public Library.
