On Friday, July 29, at 8:39 p.m., K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten and Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch of the Adair County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Lampton Lane to investigate a suspicious male in the area.
When located, he was identified as Joshua Arnold, 40, of Columbia. After a roadside investigation, it was determined Arnold was under the influence and was advised to place his hands behind his back.
At that point, Arnold pulled away and attempted to elude his arrest and struggle ensued. He was taken into custody without injury.
Upon his arrest, suspected fentanyl was located along with marijuana. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of:
• possession of controlled substance 1st degree fentanyl
• possession of marijuana
• public intoxication excludes alcohol
• resisting arrest
K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten was the arresting officer.
