Adair, Russell Little League softball all-stars continue play today

District tournament play continues today (Sunday, June 19) for both the Adair County and Russell County softball Little League all-star teams.

Adair has two teams competing on Sunday: 12u and 10u.

10u is the only Russell County squad competing on Sunday.

All games are scheduled to take place at the old Russell Springs Elementary School, what is now the SCC-Russell Center.

12u

Adair County

Adair County started off district tournament play yesterday with a 5-1 win over Marion County.

Adair County will play Trace Creek (Taylor County) at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Trace Creek won its opening round game 4-1 against Washington County.

10u

Adair County

Adair County received a bye in the first round, and its first game will be against Trace Creek (Taylor County) on Sunday at 1 p.m. Trace Creek defeated Marion County 21-8 in its opening-round game.

Russell County

Russell County started off district tournament play against Nelson County with a 10-0 win. RC’s pitcher, Lillian Davis, had eight strikeouts and recorded a no-hitter in the pitcher’s circle.

RC moves on to play Washington County on Sunday at 3 p.m. Washington County had a bye in the first round.
