Adair Sheriff’s Office makes drug arrest

A Cumberland County man faces multiple drug charges after a weekend arrest in Adair County.

Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman reports that deputies initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Volvo late Saturday night near Cane Valley Mill Road. Deputy Chandler Staten, Staten’s K-9 partner Nitro, and Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch conducted a roadside investigation and search of the vehicle, locating suspected methamphetamine.

Dallas Hayes, 31, was charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.

The Adair Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.
