Anna Nell Smith, 72, of Columbia, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Columbia, to the late David Lee and Annabelle Shirley Taylor. Anna Nell was an active member of First Baptist Church, doing what she loved, which was singing in the choir and a member of the usher board as well. Anna drew blood at Dr. Charles Giles’ office and her patients absolutely loved her. She never met a stranger and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was a very strong woman with a beautiful heart, and she will never be forgotten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonda Dean Taylor.

Two children – Valeka Miller of Columbia and Kendrick Smith of Lexington
Three grandchildren – Derrick Miller, Za’Kia Miller, and Raven Sartin
Two great-grandchildren – Finley Sartin and Cohen Sartin
Three brothers – Danny Taylor of Columbia, Kevin (Lisa) Taylor of Somerset, Erik Stapleton of Columbia
Two sisters – Valenia (David) Johnson of Columbia, Rhonda Taylor of Bowling Green
Several other family and friends
Funeral service is Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Bryant delivering the eulogy.
Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, and visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday.
Casket-bearers are Darrin Smith, Everick Bradshaw, Jarrid Smith, Shawn White, Keenan Bridgewater, and Yves White.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
