The bi-annual Russell County Business and Professional Women Vendors Fair returns this Saturday at the Russell County Auditorium/Natatorium Complex, located at 2167 US-127 in Russell Springs.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
BPW President Barbara Sharpe said the event has been going on for “about five years” and recently became a twice-a-year event — held in July and December.
There are currently 18 vendors committed to the event, each with unique wares to avoid competition between the booths.
The items that will be available range from jewelry, clothes, soaps, food, specialty drinks, outdoor furniture, home décor, woodworking, and more. Sharpe said that many of the items are handmade and that shaved ice will also be available for purchase.
“There are a lot of different [items for sale], so this is kind of like a one-stop shop,” Sharpe said.
The event is a fundraiser for BPW, with the vendor registration fees going toward two different scholarships sponsored by the organization: one for a female high school student who graduated and is set to attend college and another for a nontraditional female college student.
The BPW is a nonprofit group with a mission “to promote women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information,” according to the Kentucky BPW Facebook page.
