Brenda Sue Hatcher, 78, of Columbia, died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Baptist Health Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Brenda was born March 8, 1943 to the late Marvin and Thirsie Keltner Downey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hatcher; five brothers, Coy, Hollis, Thomas, Kenneth and Arlin Downey; two sisters, Diana Stone and Zenith Hatcher; and a grandchild, Skyler Hatcher. Brenda was a homemaker and member of Milltown Church.
Survivors include:
Three sons – Jeff Hatcher (Vicki), Randy Hatcher (Sharon Gupton), and Brad Hatcher (Melinda Knight), all of Columbia
One daughter – Miranda Hatcher of Columbia
One brother – Jimmie Downey of Columbia
Two sisters – Evon Legg and Geneva Holmes, both of Columbia
Eight grandchildren – Malisha Hatcher (Austin Henderson), Blake Hatcher (Abby), Zack Hatcher, Tristen Keith, Austin Hatcher, Jeffery Burton (Kristy), Stephanie Richards, and Jack Gupton
Five great-grandchildren – Krew Henderson, Autumn Burton, Jordan Burton, J.R. Kelsay, and a great-grandson due in May 2022
Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services are Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Bro. Barney Taylor, Bro. William Davenport and Bro. Tim Cooper officiating.
Burial is in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Casket-bearers are Blake Hatcher, Jeffery Burton, Zack Hatcher, Tristen Keith, Austin Hatcher and Colton Downey.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
