Charlene Cowan, 56, of Columbia, died Monday, April 25, 2022 at TJ Health/Columbia Emergency Room.
She was born March 14, 1966, to the late Bloyd and Camilla Patterson Oakes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Cowan in 2011. Charlene was a businesswoman and caretaker.

Three daughters – Marty (Dan) Burris of Columbia, Chasity (Josh) Baugh of Chickamauga, Georgia, Megan Cowan (Chuck Rodgers) of Columbia
Six grandchildren – Natalie (Trevor) Foster, Dawson Burris, Knox, Jett, Parker, and Cove Baugh
Three great-grandchildren – Rhett, Lillie, and River
Her grand-dog – Dolly
Several other relatives and friends
Funeral service is Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Columbia Christian Church, with Bro. Jamie Bryant officiating.
Burial will be in Bearwallow Cemetery.
Visitation after 4 p.m. Thursday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Friday at the church.
Casket-bearers are Josh Baugh, Chuck Rodgers, Trevor Foster, Matthew Corbin, Jeff Watson, and Kenvie Reese. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
