The City of Columbia has received a grant from the Walmart Foundation that will be utilized for its D.A.R.E. program.

The City of Columbia has two officers assigned to the D.A.R.E. program: Jimmy Luttrell at the Adair County Middle School and Adam Cravens at the Adair County Elementary School.

D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and is a drug awareness program for students in the school system.

“We appreciate Walmart and their commitment to the community,” Mayor Pamela Hoots said.
