Columbia man arrested on burglary, theft charges

Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman reports that his office has made an arrest in a local theft case.

Deputy Tracy McCarol secured the indictment against 39-year-old Christopher Helm, of Columbia, following a lengthy investigation. The theft occurred at a farm off Milltown Church Road in Adair County, where a fuel pump—valued at $1,800—was stolen. The Sheriff’s Office managed to locate the pump and return it undamaged to the rightful owner.

Helm was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail on charges of third-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking, more than $1,000 but less than $10,000.

McCarol was assisted by Brockman and Deputy Gary Roy.
