According to a press release from the Columbia Police Department, local residents have been receiving numerous scam calls. People have reported scammers are claiming to be with Social Security Office, IRS, and recently Publishers Clearinghouse.
The Columbia Police Department would like to remind everyone to not give personal details and information over the phone when solicited.
