Early in-person, no-excuse voting begins on Thursday, May 12, and continues Friday May 13, and Saturday May 14, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the RECC Community Room, located at 2405 North Main Street in Jamestown.
After the three days of early voting ends, the final day to vote will then be Primary Election Day, Tuesday May 17, from 6 a.m.-6 p.m., at one of three voting centers: The Levee Building (behind the courthouse), Salem Elementary School, and the RECC Community Room.
The county clerk’s office will be closed on Election Day.
All voters will be required to show a valid ID before they will be allowed to vote. Russell County Deputy Clerk Janet Antle said the quickest and best form of ID to bring is a valid driver’s license.
On election night, the process of tallying the results will be, as always, open to the public.
After the polls close at 6 p.m., constables will escort all of the ballots back to the Russell County Clerk’s Office, where the process will begin.
“The public is most welcome to come and watch the Russell County Board of Elections tally the results,” Antle said.
