Adair County Judge-Executive Gale Cowan signed an executive order Thursday announcing that all flags located at county office buildings be lowered to half-staff Friday and Saturday to honor the memory of Kevin Jones.
Jones, 35, grew up in Knifley, graduated from Adair County High School in 2005, and was an E-911 dispatcher and mapping coordinator for the county.
Cowan’s order read, in part:
Kevin was born with Cystic Fibrosis as a child, was a double organ transplant recipient at the age of 12 and was on the list to receive a kidney transplant at the time of his death. Kevin was a dedicated and faithful employee and loved being a servant to the people of Adair County. He was a true friend to all who knew him. Even while fighting his illness, Kevin was determined to get back to the job he loved and did so well.
It is hereby ordered, flags be lowered to half-staff beginning at 8 a.m. CST on Friday, March 11, 2022, and returned to full staff at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
