The Russell County Middle School girls’ soccer team recently held a celebration to honor the team’s accomplishments from this past year.
The eighth-grade team
won the conference championship for the first time in program history in May. With vacations and other obligations during the summer, the team was just able to get together in July for an end-of-season celebration.
The Lady Lakers’ two coaches — Cheryl Newby and Kirsty Chapman — handed out awards and a rose to each of the eighth-grade members of the team and a medal to all of the players at the team’s field behind Russell County High School.
