Ever expanding and ever growing.
That’s what Gosser’s Welding & Equipment Repair has been doing since Samuel Gosser started it in 2007 while still enrolled in Russell County High School.
So bringing the first dealership to offer new tractors with warranty to Russell County since “roughly the ’80s,” he estimated, is just par for the course for this “always evolving” business.
And it’s been something he has dreamed of doing for a long time.
“Well, quite honestly, it’s something I’ve been interested in since I was a little kid,” Gosser said. “Most kids were reading comic books and watching cartoons and things like that, but I was reading the Fastline catalog, looking at tractors and trucks … That was exciting to me to look at all the different tractors and equipment, and it’s just something I was always interested in.”
Gosser has partnered with Yanmar USA and received his first shipment of five tractors last week, with more attachments coming in the next few weeks.
He noted that there were a wide variety of factors that made him choose Yanmar, which is a Japanese-based company, but the tractors and side-by-sides are built in Adairsville, Georgia.
For one, Yanmar “isn’t some off-the wall company,” Gosser said, as it was founded in 1910 and is competing with Kubota for dominance in the overseas markets. The company has been in the United States since 1970 and is looking to grow its footprint.
Most importantly, though, is that the price points are competitive within the industry and the financing options make it easy on the customer.
“I’ve got their full product line available,” Gosser said. “It’s not just tractors. I can sell attachments that go with the tractor. If you need a mower, a bush hog, a tiller, a box blade, hay spear; if you need implements, I can sell you that, too. And one of the neat things about the way Yanmar works is I can roll all those attachments into one payment. So if you come and buy the tractor, and you need all these attachments, you’re not making multiple payments. I can finance it all under one thing.

“And Yanmar is really competitive with what they do financing wise, price point wise,” he added. “I can compete with any of the other manufacturers around. And what’s really interesting with them, too, is all of their tractors offer a 10-year powertrain warranty, so the warranty is going to outlive your payments, which nowadays we don’t see.”
Gosser said they would be selling everything from “21-to-60 horsepower tractors” to utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) and side-by-sides, in addition to a wide variety of attachments.
The goal in the near future is to have mini excavators and skid-steer loaders available, as well as mowers and other lawn care equipment.
“That’ll probably be something we’ll roll out next year,” Gosser said.
Gosser said he’s excited about starting this new venture and bringing something new to the community.
What he’s most excited about is the opportunity to “serve the community a little better” and be home with his daughters, pursuing a dream that he had when he was their age.
“I’m here in my hometown, and I’m with my family,” Gosser said. “I’m trying to encourage these two here (his daughters, Samantha, 7, and Sadie, 5) to always pursue their dreams, so it’s hard to encourage kids to pursue their dreams when you ain’t pursuing your own.”
