Gueta Burton, 76, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022 at her residence. She was born on July 12, 1945 in Adair County, to Joe Spires of Columbia, who survives, and the late Betty Jean Morgan Spires.
Gueta was a member of the Glasgow Separate Baptist Church and attended Glasgow Faith Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Phillip Burton of Glasgow; two children, Camilla Jo Carroll (Bob) of Glasgow, and Phillip Dean Burton (Jessica) of Russell Springs; five grandchildren, Crystal Burton, Brittany Nicole Burton, Justin Dean Burton and Autumn Jo Carroll; three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Dawson and Courtney Foley; four siblings, Donnie Spires (Wanda) of Campbellsville, Judy Burton (Randall) of Columbia, Ann Jessie of Bowling Green, and Roger Spires of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Burton, and a sister, Cathy Sexton.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and will continue on Friday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Roger Poynter will be officiating and pallbearers will be Floyd Burton, Tommy Burton, Glen Corbin, Chris Stapp, Ronnie Bolen, and David Poynter.
