The Russell County High School boys’ golf team picked up a rivalry match win Tuesday over Adair County.
The Indians played host, with the contest taking place at Lindsey Wilson College’s The Pines in Columbia. The varsity Lakers were undoubtedly the better team in this one, shooting 165 against Adair’s 190.
Russell County freshman Noah McMillin was the low scorer, carding a one-over-par 37. Daylon Blevins shot a 41, Bentley Perkerson fired a 43, Kole Rixon came in with 44, and Parker Johnson rounded out the Russell scorecard with a 45.
Sophomore Jagger Kemp was the Indians’ low scorer, shooting 41. Kayden Greene (48), Bodie Richard (50), JT Loy (51), and Garret Tucker (57) completed the Adair scoresheet.
In a two-player JV match, Adair came out on top, 91 to 94. Josiah Dudgeon shot 45 and Landon Bryant had a 49 for Russell County. Sixth grader Ty Burwash led the Adair JV squad with a 42, while Greene fired a 49.
