An acclaimed performer will return to his hometown this weekend to put on a show for his people and help raise money for a worthy cause. Kevin Williams will perform a free benefit concert for the youth of Russell County this coming Saturday, May 14.

Along with special guest performers Matthew Holt, Wes Hampton, the Crossroads Quartet, and a community choir, Williams’ concert will be held at First Baptist Church in Russell Springs. While there is no charge to attend, a benefit offering will be collected.

A Russell Springs native, Williams has enjoyed a successful career as a guitarist, comedian, and speaker over the past 35 years. He’s performed at Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry and NBA arenas across the country.

As a guitarist, Williams has played with legends including Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, George Jones, Ronnie Milsap, Paul Simon, and Conway Twitty.

Since 2014, he has raised more than $200,000 for needy children across the Commonwealth.
