The Lady Lakers crossed the finish line of a marathon-like week of basketball on Thursday evening. The busy week concluded with a pair of Russell County wins over Casey County.
Russell’s seventh grade squad breezed through its game, coming out on top in a lopsided affair, 33 to 3.
The Rebels’ eighth graders proved more of a challenge, putting up 31 points. The Lady Lakers won the day, however, behind Addy Abrell’s 13 points. Carigann Carpenter added 11 and Madelyn Roy scored eight points. The final score was 42 – 31.
The games were Russell’s fourth matchups in just six days. They played in London over the weekend, home on Monday, at Wayne on Tuesday, and finished the job in Casey on Thursday.
The Lady Lakers will hit the road again Monday to face off against the Adair County Lady Indians.
