Laker Golf places top five in Rockcastle County Invitational

The Russell County Laker boys’ golf team came away on Wednesday with its best outing in this young season.

The Lakers traveled to Burnside Island State Park to play in the Rockcastle County Invitational. They shot a season-low score of 323 to place them top five in the 15-team tournament.

The Lakers were led in scoring by senior Bentley Perkerson with a 76. Freshman Noah McMillin added a score of 77. Freshman Daylon Blevins shot 80, and sophomores Kole Rixon and Parker Johnson scored 90 and 100, respectively.

The Lakers will travel to Dale Hollow State Park on Thursday to face off against Clinton and Cumberland counties.

On Saturday, the Lakers will play at Old Bridge in Danville.
