Leon Davis, 85, of Glens Fork, Kentucky, died Friday, May 13, 2022 at 8:58 a.m. at TJ Health/Columbia.

He was born Feb. 27, 1937, in Bow, Kentucky (Cumberland County), to the late Gobel and Mary Davidson Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Brummett Davis on May 17, 2013; two brothers, Ernest C. Davis and Lewis MacArthor “Mackie” Davis; and an infant sister, Margaret Davis. Leon was a member of Glens Fork Church of the Good News and was a former delivery driver for Cundiff Dairy, Cumberland Dairy, Columbia Dairy, Butternut Bread Company, Kerns Bread Company, Columbia Candy Company, Southern Belle Dairy Ice Cream, and Russell County Senior Center.

Survivors include:

Two sisters – Wanda Reese, of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Mildred Lois Hamlett, of Columbia

One brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law – Jack and Ann Brummett and Barbara Brummett, all of Glens Fork, and Betty Jane Davis

The following nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews – Barbara Hopper (Wayne) and Clancey, Darrell Davis, Melinda Davis Thomas (Kenton), Tina Thomas, Jordan (Carolyn) Thomas and Juliza, Jacob Thomas (Amelia), Greg Davis (Jill) Richard Hamlett (Sharon) and Emily and Jessica, Michael Todd Davis (Angela), Sheri Davis Durbin (Michael) and Caleb and Garrett, Troy Armstrong, Susan Brummett Miller (Bryan) and Hannah, Grant and Emma Cockerham, Matt Brummett (Laura) and Allie Caldwell (Grant), Maggie and Sam Brummett.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, with Bro. Craig Trumbo officiating

Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and anytime Monday before service.

In lieu of flowers, donations of Gideon Bibles, Hosparus of Green River of Glens Fork Church of Good News would be appreciated and can be left at the funeral home.

Casket-bearers are Darrell Davis, Greg Davis, Richard Hamlett, Carl Coots, Eric Klingberg, Daryl Grant, and Cliff Coots. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
