Mrs. Marie (Smith) Curry, 92, of Columbia, died on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at TJ Health Columbia. She was born August 4, 1929 in Cumberland County to the late Willie Peyton and Elsie Edens Smith.
Mrs. Curry was a homemaker and member of Columbia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Curry, on April 6, 2019. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Manette Holmes, and two brothers, Jack Smith and Harold Smith.
She is survived by two sons Gary Vernon Curry (Peggy) of Columbia, and Robert Lynn Curry (Sherry) of Frankfort, KY; three grandchildren, Jason Curry of Columbia, and Jonathan Curry (Selena) and Lauren Germond (Alec), both of Frankfort; four great-grandchildren, Meadow Lynne Curry, Roland Lynne Curry, Merritt Marie Germond and Bowen Alec Germond all of Frankfort; a sister, Nancy Bagozzi of Humble, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Jimmie Dale Cox will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Jason Curry, Jonathan Curry, Alec Germond, Joe Shepherd, Todd Smith, and Mike Slucher.
