Middle school Lady Lakers handle Hart on the hardwood

The Russell County Middle School seventh and eighth grade girls’ basketball teams hosted Hart County Monday night for a doubleheader. The home team emerged victorious in both games, winning each by huge margins.

The seventh graders got things started with a bang, besting the visiting Lady Raiders by 38 points. Addy Abrell’s 19 points were a game high.

The eighth grade squad picked up where the younger team left off, cruising to a 33-point win. Addy Abrell once again led all RC scorers with 18 points. Carigann Carpenter delivered 10 points of her own. 

The eighth grade Lady Lakers were coming off a busy weekend in London, Kentucky, where they played in the “Hypeher Hoops Rise Up Classic” tournament. The squad finished as runners up in the gold bracket.
