The Russell County Middle School Lady Lakers made the trip to Green County Thursday night. The girls took care of business and all three teams came home victorious.

The sixth graders were led by Liv Stephens as she sank jumper after jumper to total nine points. They secured a comfortable win over the Lady Dragons, 21-8.

The seventh grade game was more competitive, as Green County mustered a second half comeback. Dori Ballou balled out, leading the Lady Lakers with 11 points. Kaelyn Campbell came through in the end, icing two clutch free throws with 6.8 seconds on the clock to put the game out of reach. The final was 28 to 24.

McKenna Ccamaque was the star for Russell in the eighth grade contest, on a mission to get buckets. She put up 19 points as the Lady Lakers never took their foot of the gas and cruised to a 25-point victory, 50-25.

Russell County will be back in action to host Cumberland County on Tuesday, Sept. 6th.
