The State Board of Elections has approved Russell County’s primary election plan, according to Deputy County Clerk Janet Antle.
The plan allows for three days of early voting in Russell County, taking place on May 12, 13, and 14 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Early voting will take place at the South KY RECC Community Room, located at 2405 North Main Street in Jamestown. All registered voters in Russell County can vote there during that period, regardless of their registered precinct.
Voters who want to wait and vote the old-fashioned way, on Election Day (Tuesday, May 17), will be able to do so from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. at one of three voting center locations:
• The Levee Building, by Jamestown Christian Church
65 Main Street, Jamestown
• Salem Elementary School
1409 South Hwy. 76, Russell Springs
• South KY RECC Community Room
2405 North Main Street, Jamestown
Voters will be able to vote at any of those three locations on Election Day, regardless of their registered precinct.
Other important election dates to remember are the first day to request an absentee ballot (April 2, voters may do so by contacting the Russell County Clerk’s Office at 270-343-2125 or 270-566-0135) and the last day to register to vote in the Primary (April 18).
Voters can register online at elect.ky.gov or in the County Clerk’s Office, located at 410 Monument Square in Jamestown, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Anyone interested in working the polls or with any election-related questions is encouraged to contact Antle anytime at 270-566-0135.
