RCHS track & field competes at Carl Deaton Classic

Russell County’s track and field athletes competed in the Carl Deaton Classic meet on Friday, May 6. The girls finished in 12th place with 10 points, and the boys came in 13th place with 5 total points.

Below are the athletes and relay members who finished in the top 10 of their events:

Girls’ 800-meter run
• 5th place – Cadence Rager  
Time – 2:47.31

Girls’ 1600-meter run
• 3rd place – Cadence Rager  
Time – 5:52.35

Boys’ 300-meter hurdles
• 8th place – Mason Buras      
Time – 53.51

Boys’ Shot Put
• 5th Place – Nick Ford             
Distance – 40 feet, 2 inches

Boys’ Long Jump
• 10th Place –Clayton Trosper           
Distance – 15 feet, 10.5 inches

The Class 2A Region 5 meet for Russell County is scheduled for Monday, May 23, at Alvis Johnson Field in Harrodsburg.
