Kevin Reynolds has been selected as Russell Springs Elementary School’s next principal.

Reynolds, a Russell County resident, is finishing up his second year as the principal at Casey County High School. He was the assistant principal at Casey County Middle School for eight years prior to that.

“We had two good final applicants that we interviewed,” superintendent Michael Ford said. “The (site-based decision making) council ultimately selected Mr. Reynolds. He has a diverse background, transitioning from high school to elementary school, and has worked with a lot of youth, through coaching and other things.”

Reynolds is taking over for Rene’ Gossage, who is retiring. Gossage has been the RSES principal since 2019, was assistant principal before that, and has spent her entire career as an educator in the Russell County school system, according to Ford.

“I just want to thank her because she’s been a great asset to her school and our whole school system,” Ford said.

Gossage’s last official day is June 30, and Reynolds is set to start on July 1. Ford said Reynolds is already in the process of setting up a meet and greet with faculty, staff and parents.
