Road work begins Monday in Pulaski County on Cumberland Expressway

The pavement rehabilitation and improvement project on the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway is ongoing. Road crews will begin performing paving operations in Pulaski County on Monday, May 23, and will be performed both east and west bound between the Fishing Creek bridge and the Russell County line.

PULASKI COUNTY – Beginning Monday, May 23, crews will begin performing paving operations on the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Expressway.

Work will be performed both east and west bound between the Fishing Creek bridge and the Russell County line. Work will begin as mobile operations to remove pavement markings which is expected to last four weeks.

Paving operations will follow requiring the roadway to be reduced to one lane. In addition, the speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles per hour.

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the area and to pay close attention to signage.

Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30. The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
