The Russell County boys’ and girls’ tennis teams played Boyle County at Centre College on Tuesday, March 15.
The Boyle County boys’ team won 6-of-9 matches.
Lucas McFall accounted for the lone singles victory for Russell County, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Jay Bailey lost 1-8; Jaxon Popplewell lost 2-8; Carson Buras lost 0-6; Paxton Trautman Lost 1-6; and Joe Bolen lost 0-8 in other singles matches on the day.
In doubles action, Lucas McFall and Jaxon Popplewell won 8-0, and Carson Buras and Paxton Trautman won 6-2.
On the girls’ side of the match, Boyle County won 5-0. Ellie Terry lost 0-8 and Jasmin Grant lost 0-8 in singles. In doubles play, Abby Helm and Grace Jennette lost 1-8; Jasmin Grant and Breanna Trautman lost 4-8; and Jaylen Hill and Khloe Stephens lost 0-8.
