On Monday, Feb. 21, at 5:25 p.m., Adair County 911 received a report of a rollover collision in the Millerfield community, 14 miles east of Columbia.
Upon arrival of Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy Kenny Perkins, it was found that Brandon Mathis, 38, of Russell Springs, was operating a 2004 Buick on Ky. 76 when he dropped off the shoulder of the road. The vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to rest in an adjacent field.
A passenger in the vehicle, Tashina Mathis, 37, also of Russell Springs, was partially ejected, as no seatbelt was in use. She was treated on the scene by Adair County EMS and then airlifted via helicopter to University of Louisville for treatment of injuries.
The operator was cited for no operators license and treated and released at TJ Health of Columbia.
Perkins was assisted on the scene by the Columbia/Adair County Volunteer Fire Department. The Adair County Sheriff’s Office is continuing investigation.
