The Russell County Jaycees Fair is in the midst of its 126th year. The festivities started last Friday, June 3, and only two days remain, with the event running through Saturday, June 11.
“Come out, enjoy the show, and have some fun,” Russell County Jaycee Samuel Gosser said. “The way gas prices are getting, this will be a good opportunity for people to not have to drive a far distance to have somewhere to go and have some hometown fun.”
Friday, June 10
The Beef Show starts off the fair on Friday, June 10, at 6 p.m.
The TNT Truck and Tractor Pull takes place at 7 p.m., followed by a karaoke contest at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 11
Saturday, June 11 will be the final day of the fair, and it’s an action-packed, all-day affair
Kids Day events and Horseshoe Pitching start the day off at 10 a.m.
The Mobile Dairy Classroom will be available to explore at 11 a.m., followed by the Pedal Tractor Pull at 12:30 p.m.
The Corn Hole Tournament and Horse Racing both take place at 2 p.m.
The Russell County Derby horse race is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and Sara Simmons — a Nashville-based singer-songwriter — takes the stage at 5 p.m.
Championship Pony/Mule Pull (back track) starts at 6 p.m., and the Championship Rodeo – Bullwhip begins at 7 p.m.
The Closing Ceremony will be at 10 p.m.
