The County Line is excited to announce today the two newest members of our creative staff, Shayla and C. Burgess Brown.
The husband-and-wife writing team are each accomplished Licensed Mental Health Clinicians and will contribute to this site regularly on topics concerning mental health and wellness. Shayla and Burgess boast a wealth of experience and education in their fields, and both hold bachelor’s and masters degree’s from Lindsey Wilson College.
Shayla says her primary goal in her new role on this site is to normalize mental health, helping to shed the stigma surrounding the topic. Burgess hopes to foster personal responsibility and an understanding of how mental health impacts everyday life, relationships, and careers. Writing collectively, they hope to encourage readers to be active participants in their own mental health.
As the couple will speak for themselves during their hopefully long and constructive partnership with The County Line, it’s only fitting that they introduce themselves:
Hello! We are the Browns, Licensed Mental Health Clinicians with almost 20 years of combined professional experience. We are so excited for this opportunity to share our insight and expertise with this new audience.
We have experience serving populations including residential, youth in foster care, and outpatient services, among others. People seek our services for a wide variety of reasons and our scope of practice includes substance use, grief, behavioral issues, mood disorders, life transitions and development of an individual across the lifespan.
It is our goal to share content that will be informative, inspiring, and inclusive to and for the collective. Mental Health is our passion and we hope to provide the tools for you to be passionate about yours too!
All of us at The County Line are thrilled to have Shayla and Burgess on the team, and their first post to the site will drop later this week!
