County elections set, city candidates have until June 7 to file

Voters have until April 19 to register

On Tuesday, May 17, voters in this community will head to the polls to make some significant decisions on local leadership for 2023 and beyond. Some races are already set while the filing period for a few offices remains open.

The deadline for candidates to file to run in the primary has passed, but nonpartisan election candidates — including those for mayor, city council and school board positions — still have until the June 7 deadline.

Below is a breakdown of each office up for grabs in Adair and Russell counties (click here to skip down to the Russell County offices), as well as a list of candidates who have filed to run. This list will be updated as more candidates file for the nonpartisan positions.
