Adair County will be having a waste tire collection event starting today, Thursday, May 12, through Saturday, May 14.
Residents can dispose of their tires on Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:30-11 a.m.
The event, which is in partnership with the Kentucky Division of Waste Management, will take place at the State Highway Barn, located at located on Service Road in Columbia, and allows the county’s citizens to dispose of their waste tires at no charge, including tires on rims.
Any Kentucky resident is eligible to participate in this program.
Tires that will be accepted include:
• Truck
• Golf cart
• Light truck
• Tractor
• Passenger
• Implement
• Motorcyle
• Lawn
• Bicycle
Tires that will not be accepted include:
• Foam-filled
• Calcium-filled
• Off-road construction
• Solid with press-on rims
• Rubber Tracks
Tires will also not be accepted from tire retailers, scrap dealers, salvage yards, and/or tire recyclers.
