William Gene “Billy” Spoon, 75, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Lexington VA Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Columbia, KY on February 1, 1947 to the late Lida Mae Spoon Judd.
Billy attended the United House of Prayer Church and enjoyed watching UK basketball and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Spoon of Columbia; a son, Ronnie James Morgan of Columbia; five grandchildren, Chayton Morgan, Veronica Morgan, Jasmine Morgan, Curtis Bell, and Nicole Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Morgan, and two brothers, James Judd and Ray Spoon.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
